AUBURN – Chris Davis was named the SEC co-Special Teams Player of the Week for his 100-yard touchdown return of a missed field goal as time expired to win the Iron Bowl 34-28. It is the second time Davis has been recognized by the conference for his play on special teams.
It was the fourth time in NCAA history that a missed field goal was returned for 100 yards for a score and the second time this year (LSU vs UAB – Odell Beckham, Jr. for LSU) but the first time a missed field goal was returned 100-yards as time expired.
Davis also made 10 tackles, including stopping T.J. Yeldon on the play before the field goal attempt.
Nick Marshall was also named SEC Offensive Player of the Week.
