AUBURN – Tigers guard Chris Denson was voted 2014 Associated Press All-SEC Honorable Mention, it was announced Monday.
“I am very honored to be named honorable mention All-SEC by the Associated Press,” Denson said in a statement. “I want to thank my teammates and coaches. In my four years at Auburn I would have never thought I could accomplish this achievement.”
Denson finished the regular season second in the SEC in scoring (19.2 points), was eighth in field goal percentage (.461) and 10th in minutes played (32). In SEC games he was second in scoring (19.4 ppg) and sixth in field goal percentage (.434).
Denson scored in double figures in 26 games and had 13 20-point games, eight 25-point games and a pair of 30-point games, including a career-high 32 against Alabama. He was the team’s leading scorer 19 times and led the team in assists 11 times.
Denson is the first Auburn player to be a part of the AP All-SEC honors since Korvotney Barber was a Second Team choice in 2009.
