Ford, Garrett, still practicing, status still unclear

AUBURN — Defensive end Dee Ford (left knee ligament) and “star” safety Justin Garrett continued to practice as they have all week.

Asked how many reps with the first team each of them took in practice, Aubrun coach Gus Malzahn said “They were mixing and matching.”

Ford, who led Auburn with six sacks last season, and Garrett, the defensive MVP of A-Day, were both injured during a scrimmage Aug. 10. Neither has been available to speak since being injured despite repeated requests.

Craig Sanders has been the starter at left end in place of Ford and has recorded six tackles with 2 1/2 for loss and 1/2 a sack.

Robenson Therezie has been starting at “star” and had seven tackles with two interceptions in the season opener.
