AUBURN — Jeremy Johnson, the former G.W. Carver star and the reigning Alabama Mr. Football, is not listed on the updated depth chart. Johnson was listed third on the preseason depth chart and has not appeared in a game this season, making it increasingly likely he will end up redshirting this season.
“You know with those guys that hadn’t played, each individual’s different,” Malzahn said. “We’ve talked to all the different freshmen, different things. We’ve got a lot of trust in Jeremy; he’s done a very good job for us so far.”
Johnson lost out in the competition for the starting job to Nick Marshall midway through fall camp. He has not been available to speak since arriving on campus despite weekly requests.
The former U.S. Army All-American threw for 3,193 yards and 31 touchdowns and ran for 705 yards with seven scores for the Wolverines last season.
