Live at the NFL Combine: Day 2

INDIANAPOLIS – We’re live for Day 2 of the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.

Former Auburn left tackle Greg Robinson was scheduled to speak Thursday but will appear today instead. As will Heisman Trophy finalists Tre Mason, Johnny Manziel, Andre Williams, Jordan Lynch and AJ McCarron.

Mason comes in under his listed 5-foot-10 at Auburn, not the least bit surprising, and two pounds heavier than his weight this season.

It’s going to be a busy day with quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers on the schedule. Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, Jeremy Hill, Isaiah Crowell, Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin and Odell Beckham Jr. are among a massive group of offensive skill position players appearing today.

Chris Davis was giving up 7 1/4 inches on the game-winning touchdown of the BCS National Championship game.

McCarron was listed at 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds at Alabama so he’s right where you would expect. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported McCarron will throw at the Combine, a reversal of his previously stated decision.

Robinson came in at 6-foot-5 and 332 pounds, 12 pounds heavier than his listed weight at Auburn this season, with 35-inch long arms. Six offensive linemen had 35-inch or longer arms and only one player at the Senior Bowl, Tennessee defensive tackle Dan McCullers, had longer arms (35-5/8 inches) than Robinson.

The Thibodaux, La. native was one of the few offensive lineman to add weight during last off-season as well, going from 311 pounds to 320. Robinson was 305 pounds during his redshirt year in 2011 and was listed at 296 as a senior in high school.

He’s considered among the top left tackles in this year’s draft class along with Texas A&M’s Jake Matthews and Michigan’s Taylor Lewan. More on that battle to later today.

Punter Steven Clark is one of five punters invited to this year’s Combine and hopes his “modified” Aussie punt technique lands him a job in the NFL.
