INDIANAPOLIS – It is the final day of media availability at this year’s NFL Combine. Defensive backs scheduled to appear along with select players who did not appear as scheduled yesterday.
Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers are working out today, including their 40 runs. So far AJ McCarron is sitting with an unofficial 4.91, or .01 faster that Greg Robinson.
South Carolina’s Connor Shaw leads the QBs with an unofficial 4.55, Johnny Manziel is second with a 4.56 with Fresno State’s Derek Carr (4.65) and Northern Illinois’ Jordan Lynch (4.72) next in line.
Wide receivers are up now with Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks, Pittsburg State’s John Brown and Saginaw Valley State’s Jenn Janis are tied with unofficial 4.3s. LSU’s Odell Beckham Jr. ran a 4.4 and 4.31, South Carolina’s Bruce Ellington ran a 4.37 and 4.31, Alabama’s Kevin Norwood ran a 4.39, Texas A&M’s Mike Evans ran a 4.5 and 4.47 and Florida State’s Kelvin Benjamin came in at 4.59 and 4.53.
Tre Mason wants to show he’s the top running back in the draft and is aiming for the 4.3-4.4 range.
