AUBURN — We’ll be listening in to give some quick live updates of Gus Malzahn’s appearance on Tiger Talk this week.
On the latest on cornerback Chris Davis, Malzahn said, “we’re still day to day with his status.” Won’t say whether he’ll play at LSU.
About plans for former Carver star Jeremy Johnson, Malzahn offered little insight. “Jeremy had a very good fall camp. He was in the mix to be our starting quarterback.” Says in the event Nick Marshall were to be hurt, they’d go to “plan B.” Caller asked if Malzahn would go to Johnson or “the other one.” It’s been a fall from grace for Jonathan Wallace.
First fan question to Malzahn is about how love of basketball impacts his offensive philosophy. Revisits first break analogy to HUNH.
On having Dee Ford and Justin Garrett back, Malzahn said Ford was back to old self in second half. “They probably finished the spring as our two impact players on defense.”
On injuries this week: “We’re a little banged up, but a lot of teams are.”
Malzahn went over last week’s last-minute comeback over Mississippi State. Expected another close game, it was, confidence higher on team and Nick Marshall.
On preparing for LSU this week: “I feel like we’ve had a solid week of practice.”
