Punt return TD earns Davis SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

AUBURN – The first punt return touchdown for Auburn in five years earned Chris Davis recognition as SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The senior cornerback returned a punt 85 yards for a score as Auburn defeated Tennessee 55-23 on Saturday. It was the first punt return touchdown for the Tigers since 2008 and the longest punt return since 1970.

His 127 punt return yards are the second most in school history, the most in the SEC this season and are the fifth-best in FBS this season.

Davis leads the country with 24.1 yards per punt return.
