AUBURN — Six Tigers are on the Senior Bowl Watch List released Tuesday morning. Punter Steven Clark, cornerback Chris Davis, defensive end Nosa Eguae, defensive end Dee Ford, fullback Jay Prosch and defensive tackle Jeff Whitaker are the six Auburn players listed among the more than 400 college football players under consideration for the annual event, to be held Jan. 25, 2014.
Ford, the only proven pass rusher on the team, is out for at least the season opener with a knee ligament injury. Eguae recently returned to practice following an unspecified injury and is competing for the starting job at right end.
Whitaker is in a rotation at tackle with Gabe Wright and Angelo Blackson.
Prosch, the only senior on the Auburn offense, is considered one of the leaders of the team.
Davis has solidified his starting corner role alongside Jonathon Mincy in a thin secondary following the dismissal of Demetruce McNeal and Jonathan Jones’ foot injury.
Clark is also on the Ray Guy Award watch list.
Last year Onterio McCalebb and Philip Lutzenkirchen went to the Senior Bowl. McCalebb left due to a hamstring injury after weighing in as the lightest player and Lutzenkirchen did not participate as he recovered from hip surgery.
