AUBURN – Tre Mason was named a second-team All-American by USA Today on Wednesday. The Auburn running back has 1,621 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns this season.

Mason is one of six finalists for the Heisman Trophy, which will be presented Saturday night.

His 304 yards and four touchdowns on 46 carries in the SEC Championship broke game records and nearly broke the Auburn record for rushing yards in a game. Mason traisl only Bo Jackson’s 1,786 yards for most in a single-season in program history.

The first-team All-America running backs were Arizona’s Ka’Deem Carey (1,716 yards, 17 touchdowns in 11 games) and Boston College’s Andre Williams (2,102 yards, 17 touchdowns in 12 games).
